Mosaic Gallery Page 2

I used a picture I took of the display in front of the Atlantis space shuttle exhibit at the Kennedy Space Center. When I visited to experience the launch of the Europa Clipper launch. After the launch atop of a Falcon Heavy rocket I visited a few exhibits. When I took the picture I thought I was looking at a mockup of the solid rocket boosters and the external fuel take. However when I was studying the picture to create this mosaic I discovered that these are actual rocket parts. I used several of the Roam rules on this one, outlining, split lines and more consistent tesserae. I spent more time filling in the background versus the brick wall tiling of my previous pieces. I still made the mistake of using rectangles.

This mosaic is based on a art deco French cigarette poster I found online. This is the first in my art deco series. I used outlining plus consistent tile cutting and spacing. This is clearly my best work to date.

Ford Model A Roadster Poster
This mosaic is based poster I found online. This is the second in my art deco series. This is another attempt to follow the Roman rules, but the some of the content did not allow me to strictly follow the rules. The vertical lines in the theatre and many parts of the Model A. I am not happy with the lettering and will not try again in the size of mosaic. This mosaic is the most detailed to date and consumed the largest variety of tesserae and time to complete.

This mosaic is from a vintage travel poster. This is the third in my art deco series. This is another attempt to improve my skills, using line splitting, tesserae consistency and outlining whare possible. Unfortunately the while gluing to the backer the contact paper stuck to the tiles causing the tile placement at the bottom to move. I did my best to replace the disturbed tiles but it wasn't possible to fix them all.
